New York, New York (August 7, 2015) – Daniel J. Yip, principal of Nexus Business Consulting, a private business consulting company (www.nexusbc.com), was named to the Board of Directors for ALPFA, the Association of Latino Professionals for America (www.alpfa.org).
During ALPFA’s 43rd annual convention, held for the first time in New York City, the Board approved the new slate elected by the organization’s members. Mr. Yip will join the ALPFA board on October 1, 2015, to begin the new fiscal year for the organization.
“I see this opportunity as a way of becoming even more involved in our Latino community,” said Mr. Yip, “I admire ALPFA as an organization that wants to make a difference by developing Latino men and women as leaders of character. I am honored to be joining the ALPFA board, and I look forward to working with the board members to help make a difference.”
Mr. Yip is a lifetime member of ALPFA, currently serving in multiple roles for the ALPFA Miami chapter: as a member of the chapter’s strategic board as well as the coordinator of the chapter’s IT and marketing segments. In 2010, he was one of ten ALPFA professional members awarded the ALPFA/University of Phoenix Leadership Scholarship. With this scholarship, he earned his Master in Business Administration in 2012. Most recently, for his efforts with ALPFA, Mr. Yip was awarded the Servant Leadership Award in 2015.
